GoGrid and Stratonomic Partner to Enable Disaster Recovery in the Cloud
In August, 2009, GoGrid (Cloud Computing and Cloud Infrastructure division of ServePath) partnered with Stratonomic to offer disaster recovery (DR) for hosted web applications in the cloud. Courtesy to the partnership, a disaster recovery environment can now be easily set up and made available in the cloud, at an affordable cost.
Stratonomic builds a DR environment in the GoGrid cloud which makes the whole process easy. DR systems are regularly checked for being fully operational and ready to take traffic via monthly verification. The set up includes configuring database replication and file system synchronization. Stratonomic provides robust cloud hosting solutions and enables mechanisms that prevent primary systems from being overloaded.

Businesses feel the need to have disaster recovery solutions but are unable to bear the high cost involved in setting up and managing a DR site. The high costs are now a thing of the past as the GoGrid and Stratonomic partnership now make it possible the DR environment to be set up without any additional server hardware to be managed, which saves alot of cost. This DR solution makes use of the elasticity of the GoGrid cloud. Businesses pay only for what they use, taking the costs quite low.
“The GoGrid Cloud is an ideal on-ramp for companies looking to bolster their online presence, especially in conjunction with Stratonomic’s Disaster Recovery solution,” said John Keagy, CEO and Co-Founder of GoGrid. “Stratonomic’s DR solutions within GoGrid provide unparalleled and critical peace-of-mind for any CTO, IT Manager or SysAdmin, ensuring that sites are always available, even when the unthinkable happens.”

“Stratonomic is excited to partner with GoGrid a leader in cloud computing” said Ben Sharma, CEO and founder of Stratonomic. “GoGrid’s outstanding cloud server and network infrastructure coupled with Stratonomic’s unique Cloud Recovery solutions offer the best possible solution in Disaster Recovery.”
The Cloud Recovery Plans include a number of services such as database replication, file system synchronization and monthly verification, as stated earlier. In addition to this, it also provides secondary data centre location, dynamic DNS failover, global load balancing across primary and secondary sites, verification reports, verification servers, primary site monitoring from 2 seperate locations etc. The number and kind of services depends on the Cloud Recovery Plan opted by the business.
